Singapore offers an array of activities to suit everyone. We visited before having children but would love to return with the girls one day soon as there really is so much to do for all ages and we felt so safe here. Here are some top things to do that we either did or were recommended to do:
- Gardens by the Bay: By far one of the highlights for us. Explore the futuristic Supertree Grove, Cloud Forest, and Flower Dome for a unique blend of nature and technology.
- Marina Bay Sands: We had to visit this iconic luxury hotel in Singapore, featuring a sky-high infinity pool, observation deck, shopping mall, and various dining options. A little tip that saved us a few £££ – Go to the rooftop bar for a drink instead of the viewing platform. The price to go up to the viewing platform is more than the minimum spend in the bar, you get the same views and actually the bar is right next to the famous rooftop infinity pool.
- Sentosa Island: We could have spent a week on this resort island, home to attractions like Universal Studios Singapore, S.E.A. Aquarium, Adventure Cove Waterpark, and beautiful beaches. This is the perfect place to stay with kids with plenty to keep them occupied!
- Singapore Zoo and Night Safari: Experience wildlife up close at the world-renowned Singapore Zoo during the day, and embark on a nocturnal adventure at the Night Safari to see nocturnal animals in their natural habitat. We missed this one last time but it’s top of our list for our next visit!
- Singapore Botanic Gardens: A beautiful a free way to spend an afternoon in Singapore. Enjoy a leisurely stroll in this UNESCO World Heritage site, featuring lush greenery, themed gardens, and the iconic National Orchid Garden.
- Hawker Centers: Indulge in Singapore’s diverse culinary scene at hawker centers like Maxwell Food Centre, Chinatown Complex, or Lau Pa Sat, where you can try local delights at affordable prices. Just don’t go over Chinese year like we did or it was all be shut! What a fail haha!
- Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Glam: You can immerse yourself in Singapore’s multicultural heritage by exploring these vibrant neighborhoods, each offering unique cultural experiences, architecture, and cuisine. We particularly loved the street art in Little India and the markets in Chinatown.
- Singapore River Cruise: Take an informative and scenic boat ride along the Singapore River to admire the city’s skyline and iconic landmarks such as the Merlion and Marina Bay Sands. Don’t forget to hit Clark Quay after for a spot of dinner along the riverside!
